The day began with Ernesto's class, where he helped me by observing my alignment and preventing me from rounding my back by hinging at my hips for a “forward fold”, and micro bending my knees for a “downward dog “so my heels could touch the mat. The adjustments helped me get deeper into the posture without causing any injury.
Following that, I attended Katie's communications class, which provided a comprehensive guide to connecting with potential clients & marketing oneself as a yoga instructor. Katie's confidence and professionalism were truly inspiring.
As philosophy class approached, the exhaustion from a sleepless night began to catch up with me. Despite my battle to stay awake, I managed to sneak in some hamstring stretches during the lecture.
Lunchtime brought a delightful surprise in the form of a “tropical biryani” thoughtfully prepared by Marta's husband, a considerate gesture that warmed our hearts. Marta, who serves as the director and teacher of Om & Flow Yoga, has a wonderful support system.
Throughout the day, during my breaks, Marta's husband, Javier, generously shared his culinary creations with me. This turned out to be the highlight of my day because of my own passion for cooking. It's as if spices possess a language of their own, and they spoke directly to me. He introduced me to an array of aromatic peppers, which I can’t wait to try in my own culinary creations once I return home.
