Today was Day 1 of the yoga teacher training program. The path here was quite an adventure, involving multiple flights from Ohio to Dallas, then from Dallas to Bogotá, and finally Santa Marta. A two-hour drive from Santa Marta airport led us to the eco hotel, our tranquil abode for the next month. It’s surrounded with Mangroves and overlooking the ocean. I've always wanted to live in a place overlooking the ocean, so this was like a dream come true.

We were promptly escorted to our rooms upon arrival at the resort, giving us time to freshen up before the evening's opening ceremony. With the ceremony scheduled for later, we had the chance to shower and head out for lunch in the charming beachtown of Palomino.

Following our lunch break and a brief rest, we assembled at the Shala for a meet and greet. We introduced ourselves to one another. It turns out that my group is a diverse mix of individuals from different backgrounds, various countries, and a wide range of age groups. Together, we've gathered to participate in the YTT 200 yoga teacher training program and will be sharing the same space for the next 26 days.

During the session, a ritual was held where each participant wrote down their intentions to accomplish by the end of the course and placed them in a jar with their names on it. Follow along to read about my journey.
