Finding the right yoga school for my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) was quite a daunting task for me. Initially, I considered Bali, but finally decided to opt for something closer to home. After researching extensively, I stumbled upon a program by Om and Flo Yoga in Palomino, Colombia, hosted at the Uuttaaka Eco-Hotel. I booked through bookyogateachertraining.com, organized by Tripaneer. So far, they have been very responsive to all my queries, from flight details to accommodation. I wholeheartedly recommend their services.
I first encountered yoga back in 8th grade when I attended various workshops with my mom and some classes held at school. Even though yoga had been an integral part of my life since then, it took me a while to allow myself to pursue this teacher training journey. Life's demands and some of my own self-doubts got in the way, particularly the misconception that I needed to be super flexible.
As I prepare for my upcoming yoga teacher training in Palomino, Colombia, I'm filled with excitement at the thought of deepening my yoga practice amidst nature. Although the idea of navigating multiple flights makes me a bit nervous, I see it as a vital part of my transformative journey.
Moreover, leaving behind my kids for 26 days is a little nerve wrecking, but I do have confidence that my husband will handle things at home. He’s pretty hands- on with kids. While this separation presents a significant challenge, it will be great in the long haul to strengthen our family bond.
During the training, my main goals are to learn pranayama and meditation practices and to cultivate mindfulness both on and off the mat. My dedication lies in personal growth, and I aspire to inspire others on their own unique yoga paths.
