Journeying Within

After completing my yoga teacher training, I delved deeper into meditation and began to realize the importance of the alpha state of mind. This state is characterized as a brainwave state where one experiences complete relaxation while remaining aware of their surroundings. I learned that to achieve this state, I need to follow guided meditations on YouTube or use the 3-2-1 breathing technique from the Silva Method website. This technique involves a rhythmic breathing pattern: inhaling for three counts while imagining the number 3, then repeating this visualization three times for the number two, and finally, repeating it three times for the number one.


Although I've experienced increased centeredness and a sense of calm in the past couple of months, I understand that it will take a while to harness the full potential of the mind. Patience and persistent practice are the keys to exploring the depths of mental power. Distractions may arise, but consistently shifting your focus back to the present is necessary to achieve complete relaxation. Continued practice has improved my focus to the point where even the sounds of children don't distract me as much as they used to. It has made me less anxious and more self-aware.


To continue this ongoing journey, consider starting your meditation practice by setting an intention for the day. This fosters mental clarity and enhances focus. Additionally, designating a specific spot for your daily meditation routine can mentally prepare you for each session. Lastly, wearing comfortable, loose clothing will enable you to sit or lie down comfortably for extended periods, optimizing your meditation experience.

 

As I continue on this meditative journey, I'm growing more conscious and attuned to my higher self. I'm learning to wholeheartedly embrace every facet of myself, trusting the process, and aspiring to inspire you and others like you through the insights gained from my experiences.
