We lived in an apartment complex known as 'Amber Heights' for most of our childhood years. Each evening, my brother Omar and I would head to the parking lot nestled between the two buildings, turning the sloping terrain into our skateboard racetrack.

Omar and I would begin at the top of the slope near the watchman's post, then skate downhill, keeping an eye out for cars. At the bottom, there was an old dusty yellow vintage car that captured our curiosity. We wondered about the person who used to drive it—what were they like, and what was their story? Everything seemed to have a story, even the inanimate objects as kids are full of wonder.

My childhood imagination would run wild, and I wove countless stories around that car. While to the grown-ups, it might have seemed like nothing more than a piece of junk that needed to be removed, for me, it held a special place in my heart. Decades have passed since those days, but the memory of that car hasn't faded from my mind.

Fast forward to just recently, I stumbled upon a vintage toy car on Amazon that looked remarkably similar to the one from my childhood. I felt overwhelmed with nostalgia and couldn't resist buying it. Owning this collectible brings back memories, serving as a reminder that as we age, nurturing our inner child and embracing 'childlike wonder' helps us stay in touch with our true selves and appreciate the little things in life.

This vintage car has come full circle in my life, carrying with it the stories of my past and the promise of making new memories in the future."
